You complete the circuit of the smaller, circular garden, and see that up ahead, the path form another circle. This one, however, goes around a small pond. Algae and waterflowers both adorn the top of the pond, and you wander over the side of it. Peering in, you expect to see the bottom, but find that you can't. You do, however, notice something peculiar; there are bubbles rising from one area. Could it be that perhaps there's an underground spring, and the owners of the manor just built the pond around it? It would make sense, as you notice that to your left, the path is interrupted by a small stream flowing away from this little 'ornamental' pond, with stepping stones to get you across. An odd, odd garden indeed. Odder still, though, is the creature that suddenly surfaces from the pond, startling you, and another one which, from seemingly nowhere, comes running over.

The creatures appear to be friends, as they each exchange chirping greetings, and the aquatic one splashes a bit of water on the feline one. The feline whorling shakes it off indignantly, but reaches a paw into the water to splash back at the other. Both then turn their attention towards you, and the feline whorling chirps at you excitedly. You stare at it, unsure of what it's trying to communicate, and unable to communicate back. The other whorling then makes an attempt, chirping and splashing around a bit. You shake your head, and the two look a bit crestfallen for a few moments, but then the aquatic one splashes at the feline again, and they become immersed in a game of splash-tag, forgetting about you.
