| The appearence of ornamental, smallish trees is growing more and more common. As with just about everything else in the garden, the trees are overgrown, and no longer pruned to the shapes that were once preferred of them. Small willows, cherries, and various pines form low towers of green and blossoms, breaking up the landscape of low walls. One tree in particular stands out; this, unlike the others, is a fruit baring tree with fist-sized, round blue orbs of what must be some kind of edible fruit. Small birds peck at some of the higher fruits, but nervously, and none seem to be willing to fly too low, though there is a good amount of fallen and split fruit on the ground next to the path. Looking more closely at the ground under the tree, the cause is apparent, a shadow under the small canopy distinguishes itself, and as it moves into sunlight, you can see the little, predatory form of a carhawox. |

It jumps up at lower-flying birds on occasion, though doesn't spread its wings to fly at them. You get the feeling that he's more having fun than actually hunting the little birds; if he were on the prowl for a meal, you're sure he'd have gotten it by now. Your path does not keep him in sight for very long, though, and he's soon lost behind the lower branches once more.
