The path you take winds among urns and benches, low walls and small, weather-worn statues. These abandoned gardens are hauntingly beautiful, and time seems to slow as you wander through them. You come to a section with trees that must have once been topiaries. The pine-like trees are no longer quite as shaped as they once were, though you can get a general impression of what some of them must have once been like. Tall and overgrown, the trees break up your line of vision. You don't see the next creature you come across until you're right in front of him. A large bird stalks from around a nearby topiary, stopping at the sight of you, as you do the same.

He's large, and clawed, so you aren't quite sure of whether it's a good idea to be this close. His eyes look friendly, though, and after regarding you for a few moments, he makes swings his tail from side to side a bit, and then turns, taking another path and leaving you alone.
